First analysis free on this device, then 1 credit.

Color analysis free means finding out which clothing and makeup colors suit your natural coloring without booking a stylist. Upload or take one photo, tick the 18+ box, and the AI places you in one of 12 seasonal palettes: Light, True or Bright Spring, Light, True or Soft Summer, Soft, True or Deep Autumn, and Deep, True or Bright Winter. You get your season, the three traits behind it, 6 to 8 colors to wear, 3 to 4 to wear less, and short tips for hair, makeup or beard, and gold or silver jewelry. The first color analysis free on each device needs no sign-in. After that, every analysis costs 1 credit.

How color analysis free works on this page

You choose a photo or take one with your camera. The browser checks that exactly one face is visible, then sends a downscaled copy to our server, which asks an AI model to describe the warmth, depth and softness of your skin, hair and eyes. The AI picks a season from those three traits and names a second-closest season, so you can see how close the call was. It looks at the whole picture instead of averaging pixels, and it is told to describe only color, never to judge people.

The 12 seasons in a color analysis free result

Seasonal color analysis sorts coloring into four families, and each family has three variations. Spring and Autumn are warm families, Summer and Winter are cool families. The first word of a season says which trait stands out most.

  • Spring: Light Spring is delicate and warm, True Spring is clear and golden, Bright Spring is vivid with strong contrast.
  • Summer: Light Summer is airy and cool, True Summer is cool and medium, Soft Summer is gentle and slightly grayed.
  • Autumn: Soft Autumn is warm and muted, True Autumn is rich and earthy, Deep Autumn is warm and dark.
  • Winter: Deep Winter is cool and dark, True Winter is cool and crisp, Bright Winter is cool with vivid contrast.

No season is better than another, and none is the default. A color analysis free result is a palette suggestion, not a ranking.

Warmth, depth and softness: the three dimensions

Every season combines three dimensions, and your result shows each one. Undertone is the warm, cool or neutral cast of the skin, which looks golden or peachy on the warm side and pink or rosy on the cool side. Value is how light or deep skin, hair and eyes are together: light, medium or deep. Chroma is how bright or muted the features look, which depends on the contrast between skin, hair and eyes.

When the evidence is mixed, the AI should answer neutral and say it is less sure instead of guessing. The page shows a confidence level, high, medium or low, and a second season. If your second season is close, wear colors from both palettes and see which one makes you look more rested in the mirror.

How to take a photo for color analysis free

The AI only sees the pixels you send, so the photo sets the ceiling for the answer, and a careful photo beats a good camera.

  • Stand by a bright window in daylight, away from direct sun and any colored light.
  • Switch off every filter, smoothing mode and the flash.
  • Go without makeup or keep it light, and show your hair and its natural color.
  • Look straight at the lens, with your whole face in the frame and nobody else.
  • Wear a plain white or gray top so no strong color reflects onto your face.

The photo guide covers camera height and distance. If the AI spots a color cast, a filter, dyed hair, heavy makeup, a partly hidden face or several people, it lists the problem and lowers its confidence, and you should retake the photo.

How to read a color analysis free result

The result comes from one image, judged by a model that has no way to see your skin in person. That makes it a styling aid rather than a measurement, and the same face can read a little differently under a tinted lamp and in daylight. It can only describe what the picture shows, so the confidence label matters as much as the season name. High means the three dimensions pointed the same way. Medium means one of them was close, and low means the photo or the evidence was unclear.

If a color analysis free result says low, do not trust the season yet. Take a new photo near a window, without a filter, and run it again. If two photos in different light agree, trust the season. If they land on neighbors, such as Soft Summer and Light Summer, treat both as yours.

The tool only describes warmth, depth and softness. It does not guess where you or your family come from, and it does not rate how attractive you are. The tool is for adults. When the AI judges that the person very likely looks under 16, it returns no result at all. A borderline case, someone who might be 17, gets the palette plus a reminder that it is for reference only.

What it costs and when color analysis free ends

Your first analysis on a device is free and needs no account, and the free use is counted per device, per browser and per account. After that, sign in and each analysis costs 1 credit, shown next to the button before you start. A credit is taken when the analysis starts and returned if the AI fails, times out or sends an unreadable answer. If the AI finishes but refuses the photo, for an age reason or because your coloring cannot be read, the credit counts as used. Credits come in packs of 5 for $4.99 or 15 for $9.99, and a full PSL report costs 5 credits, so see the pricing page.

Use color analysis free with the rest of the site

Your season name is a shortcut to a longer palette guide. Read the full write-ups for the deep autumn color palette or the true winter color palette to see how those two seasons are built, shade by shade. If your eyes are the feature you want to match, the eye color detector names each iris color in your browser. For cuts and frames that fit your face, try the face shape detector. Color analysis free FAQ

Is color analysis free?

The first analysis on each device is free and needs no sign-in. After that, each analysis costs 1 credit and needs a Google sign-in.

How accurate is an AI color analysis?

It reads one photo and gives a confidence label, so accuracy depends on the picture. A second photo taken in different light is the quickest check.

Is my photo stored?

No. A downscaled copy is sent through our server to Google Gemini, directly or through kie.ai as a fallback, and is not stored or logged. Your result appears on this page and is not saved to an account.

What if my result says low confidence?

Retake the photo in daylight, without a filter, with your hair visible. A low confidence usually means the light or the photo, not you.

Which season am I if I look neutral?

Neutral undertones can fit more than one season. Look at your second season, and decide by depth and softness.

What gets a photo turned down?

Two things: a person who very likely looks under 16, and a picture where the coloring cannot be read. Both count as a used analysis. Someone who may be 17 is not turned down; in that case we rely on the 18+ declaration.
